Learn to meet the challenges of building your organization while you grow together as a board and Council
Suppose you like learning to work and solve problems privately in your own board or council room with your resources. In that case, we will facilitate in-board or Council room training and problem-solving sessions with your directors or Council members.
Dr. Meier and Institute faculty present this customized in-board or Council room training program tailored to individual boards’ and Councils’ training needs. Board and Council members and the CEO or TA are interviewed as part of designing this training curriculum.
The overarching goal is to fortify the board and the CEO’s or Council’s and TA’s effectiveness in the following areas:
- Understanding their respective roles and relationships as a partnership.
- Strengthening board member and Council member governance skill sets.
- Improving communications and trust among board and Council members and between the board and Council with their CEO and TA.
Because the program is designed and conducted exclusively for an individual board or Council and the CEO or TA, participants can openly discuss (in a confidential, no-holds-barred forum) leadership issues and governance matters unique to their organization.
This venue for conversation promotes an unencumbered forum for exchanging perspectives and ideas confidentially within the confidentiality of your board or Council room.
Available Courses
- Effective Listening and Communications [One-half Day]
- Board and Council members and the CEO and TA learn to listen, receive, process, and send information successfully. Individual communication and decision-making styles are identified and techniques for communicating effectively with these styles are presented. These techniques can be used to improve communication with each other, shareholders, Tribal members, staff, family, friends, and associates.
This is a standalone workshop.
- What Type of Leader Do You Want to Be? [One-half Day]
- This highly interactive program explores several leadership styles, paying specific attention to Level V and the D’Artagnan’s Way of Leadership.
The facilitated discussion applies the Seven Principles to Inspire Leadership espoused in Dr. Meier’s book, The D’Artagnan Way, a tale of Purpose, Passion, and Team Commitment.
Boards, Councils, CEOs, and TAs find a highly energizing and motivational program to offer takeaways and tools to strengthen personal leadership styles and effectiveness both in and outside the boardroom.
